Once Odysseus with his sailors descended into the underworld - Hades. And in order to navigate in the pitch darkness, they were carrying torches.

Getting out of Hades back to the ground, they threw the torches companions of Odysseus and one rose beautiful flowers - phlox.

Carl Linnaeus in 1737 secured the name for the plant, making it the botanical name.

And in Russia in the old days was called phlox Sitchikov ... Phlox - Phlox   - Herb of the family polemoniaceae.

The genus of about 60 species of phlox, except phlox Drummond phlox all perennials.

Phlox can be high and low. They have a hard straight stems, oblong, pointed at the ends of the leaves of green or dark green. Some slightly rough.

In Russia, phlox appeared in the XIX century.

Phlox flowers are edible, they have a sweet-spicy flavor. They are added to salads, ice cream, put on sandwiches, decorate cakes.

Herbalists recommend white phlox from nerves :

1 teaspoon sugar and 1 cup of boiled water, half an hour, take 1 teaspoon 4-5 times a day.

Mask for normal skin

1 teaspoon crushed white phlox mixed with 1 tbsp. Spoon cottage cheese, good rub, add as much cream as to obtain a creamy mass.

Apply on face for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Wash cool.

Mask for oily skin

1 teaspoon crushed white phlox good rub with 1 tbsp. spoon of honey, add the beaten egg white and again good rub, apply on face for 15-20 minutes, rinse with warm water.

Rejuvenating mask

1 teaspoon dried crushed phlox mixed with 1 dessert spoon of linden flower brew 1 cup of boiling water, leave for 20 minutes, drain, add to the infusion of 1 teaspoon of honey, cool. Apply in several layers on the face, neck and décolleté with a brush or cotton swab.

Wash off after 15 minutes with warm water.

Mask, leveling the skin and gives her dullness
