Bright Side of the night
It is known that the dark can cause depression. Short daylight hours every 15th of us results in significant behavioral disorders. Dark morning negatively affects 77% of the population. But do not rush to warmer climes, where the nights are short and the days are bright and sunny. It turns out that dark bright side. By the way, good for our health and beauty!

For example, many women like lighting with candles. But not only involves their romance. Candlelight is female skin in the best possible way, it eliminates bumps and wrinkles. Maybe that's why for us the expression "candlelight dinner" has a special meaning? And it turns out that the woman he loved lighting candles for good reason. There is scientific evidence that light the candles far healthier than modern artificial lighting electric bulbs.

Dr Neil Stanley (UK) believes that over-reliance on artificial lighting in homes and offices could have a negative impact on our body and mind. According to him, we have an innate need for daily dark.

Is darkness is healthy? Quite true! And these are only some of its advantages.

Reduces the risk of cancer
Scientists have found a direct link between the development of breast cancer and the presence of too intense lighting at night.

A study by the US National Cancer Institute (NCI), the experts suggested that excessive exposure to electric light at night can reduce our resistance to disease. Light at night interferes with the production of so-called "hormone of darkness," melatonin, one of the substances that provide natural protection against cancer.

 Bright Side of the night
Melatonin - a powerful antioxidant that inhibits the growth of certain types of cancer cells, especially in combination with anticancer drugs. Melatonin may also encourage the development of white blood cells known as natural killer cells that attack tumors.

And researchers at the University of Haifa in Israel have shown that not only breast cancer is directly related to the amount of light. Their findings showed that those with high levels of street lighting have the highest rates of prostate cancer (the risk of disease increases by 80%!). According to scientists, the excessive use of artificial lighting is not only suppresses the production of melatonin, but also weakens the immune system and disrupts the body's biological clock, which reduces the natural protection against prostate cancer.

This, of course, does not mean that we should go back to the Middle Ages and dive into the darkness. Just this once again proves that even during the night to follow the nature and dive into the darkness.

It is interesting:   for the first time to daylight saving time (translation of the clock back one hour in winter and forward one hour in the summer) moved Germany, and that was during the First World War.

It improves mood
It is known that the lack of daylight leads to a depressive state, but a little known fact is the fact that no darkness can also adversely affect the emotional state. For example, psychologists from Ohio have shown that people who are 24 hours in a well-lit room, more symptoms of depression than those who live with the change of the cycles of light and darkness.

Negative impacts and a night watching TV. This is due to the influence of dangerous light that radiates the screen. Blue light from the TV screens suppresses the mood, so watching TV late at night is not safe for health.

 Bright Side of the night
It improves the quality of sleep
It was in the dark can be a healthy sleep. Artificial or natural light source does not provide a good quality of sleep. Those who sleep in a lighted room, need more sleep to fully recover. And it is also experimentally proved (by researchers from the University of Pennsylvania).

Daytime sleep, although helpful, but should not be neglected in this night's sleep. Being in the dark, our body less prone to stress, sleep becomes deeper and recuperate, the old cells are replaced by new more intense, organs and muscles are filled with energy.

No wonder the use of special masks in airplanes and trains helps to fall asleep quickly, getting into the darkness, the body is very easy to configure a dream. And the dream is more qualitative than sleep with the lights on.

It helps to lose weight
Dr. Stanley believes that those who are in contact during the night with light, have a big problem with losing weight.

The darkness gives a signal to your body that you need to sleep, and then refuse to accept food. If the light at night stays, the signal does not enter the body, and people become more and more hungry and even at night.

At the same time, if you decide to eat at night in the dark, it is not good for weight loss. Because in the dark body automatically slows down metabolism, and appetite is not controlled. Therefore, nothing good night trips to the refrigerator will not.

It supports the biological clock
Darkness is vital to keep your body clock and natural rhythms.

Habits of modern man in many respects already knocked his biological clock. Movies convenience stores, night sitting at the computer, watching TV late - all this leads to a clear violation of the way nature intended rhythms. Modern lifestyle is far from what our ancestors lived, going to bed as the darkness fell.

Scientists say that this explains the susceptibility to many diseases, ranging from stress and cardiovascular disease, and to the problems with digestion.

Doctors today are increasingly advised to shorten the day, to go after the natural rhythms. And if in nature - the darkness, and the best person to complete darkness with their action.

Perhaps follow that 100 percent will not work, yet many have obligations to family and friends, but to be closer to nature, even at weekends and on vacation - it will only benefit!
