Folic acid during pregnancy to prevent delayed speech in children
 Children whose mothers did not take folic acid in early pregnancy, after birth, have serious problems with delays in speech development. That is the conclusion drawn by researchers from Columbia University (New York, USA).

So, dear pregnant women and all those who will only become mothers. There is another reason not to ignore the requirements of physicians receiving folic acid during the period of conception and gestation of the baby. Previously, scientists have already proved that folic acid reduces the risk of certain birth defects.

And now a new study. They were attended by 40 000 women. They questioned what vitamin supplements they took 4 weeks before conception and during the 8 weeks. Three years later, the same woman answered the tests related to the development of their children.

It was found that if the mother took the folic acid in the described period, the delay of speech consists of four cases per thousand children. And those mothers who did not take folic acid, this figure increased to nine cases per thousand.

Researchers from Columbia University in favor of something that folic acid is consumed by all women of reproductive age. That is why the United States and Canada, most grain products enriched with folic acid to most pregnant women were able to receive this important ingredient.

Recent studies again show that folic acid plays a very important development for babies, whose health begins at the earliest stages of pregnancy their mothers.
